Hi! My name is Opal, and people tell me that - even though I'm retired - I am one sleek, black-and-white racing machine!

Even before I moved into my foster home, Mom worked with me in a couple of different kennels, making sure I was always bathed, groomed and fed properly. Best of all, she walked me at least twice a week and took me to her house for playdates and "spa days" with her two greys, Hondo and Julie. The three of us get along GREYT!! Hondo and Julie have taught me where and when to pee and poop, and they have also made sure that I am always on my best behavior when we go for a walk. I know my name and also know how to respond correctly to a number of commands, like "come" - "wait" - "okay" - "leave it" - and, of course, "NO!"

I am usually a very quiet girl - but I'm only 3-1/2 years old, so I absolutely LOVE my walks - and at least once or twice a day I get a typical Greyhound burst of energy and I'm ready to PLAY! I am very well-behaved and polite, never counter surfing, jumping on furniture or chewing on "no-no items." I'm happy to share my toys, beds and treats with Hondo, Julie or any other dogs who decide to visit. So far, I've been a model of decorum around the small and medium dogs I've met, but don't even think about bringing a cat around me! (OK, so maybe I'm not perfect - but I'm awful close!!)

I was pretty skinny when I first came to GALT, but my foster mommies have done a greyt job fattening me up. I'm still a pretty small girl, but Mom says I'm just a very healthy, petite "20-something." I'm not at all picky about my food, and I love just about any treat you toss my way - especially chicken or duck jerky!

My black coat is very shiny, and - with my gorgeous "girl tuxedo" - I'm always ready for a formal event. Maybe YOU can take me to the prom some day!

What a sweet grey! Just meet her and you will fall in love with this laid-back, "easy" girl!
