The 30th Annual North Texas Irish Festival is March 2, 3 and 4th. The GALT team will have a booth there to talk to the public about the wonders of greyounds as companion pets. Available greyhounds will be there to accept petting and affection, as well as a few happily adopted dogs. Greyhounds and humans alike really enjoy this event - just ask Uma!
If you're interested in volunteering to help, please contact Susie McQuade. Help is needed for booth decorating on Friday afternoon, March 2nd at 1:30pm, as well as shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Our theme this year is Faith, Hope, and Charity, in honor of three of the many abused injured Greyhounds cared for by GALT over the past several years; Faith, a severely underweight female missing her right ear, was removed from a hoarder (along with her eight puppies). Hope, a heartworm-positive stray, was found curled up in a ball on the grass strip between the parking lot and the access road near a busy highway on a freezing morning. And, Charity, one of ten heartworm-positive greyhounds received by GALT in January 2012, has several wounds and very thin fur on her back.
